Did you know that early season McIntosh apples will have more green on their skins and later seasoned skins will be almost all red? The flavor and scent will vary as well. Later season McIntosh Apples take on a slightly sweeter taste and aroma than those picked earlier in the season.
McIntosh Apple flesh is crisp and exceptionally juicy, being bright white in color. When first picked, the flavor and aroma of the McIntosh apple is a strong sweet-tart taste with nuances of spice, this flavor and aroma will mellow slightly in cold storage or temperatures.

another one of my favorites..this candle was one of the very first candles i bought back in may of 2014..i burn this one all the time and it smells just like a Macintosh apple..sweet and crisp. yummy..another thing i like about these candles is there is no black smoke on my walls from burning them. no metal in the wick..and i burn them every day all day as long as i am home.
