Sandalwood is an evergreen tree that grows around the South Pacific and Eastern Indian Regions. With sixteen variations to choose from, the most cultivated version is the Santalum Album, or Indian Sandalwood, due to its high concentration of oils.

Sandalwood has been valued by humans for at least the last four thousand years, its uses ranging from aromatherapy to construction of sacred ornaments.
